The Good Bringer – Unfinished Animation Project

~Blog by Avery of Sacred Visions Studio~

Happy New Year everyone! January is upon us, and as artists, we often leave behind many unfinished art projects in the year before, and sometimes even YEARS before. This is one such project…

Made in Blender 3D, The Good Bringer was an animated project I was developing a few years ago that unfortunately was never finished. The project was going to involve real world footage mixed with 3d character animation. The character being a small forest elf, one that would wander around in real world environments as he would do good deeds for his neighboring community within the forest. This character I named Pip.

The intention at the time was to make an animated short film, but the project felt rather ambitious and for that reason I had chosen to shelve it.

That said, Looking back, I do believe this project still holds great potential, just maybe not as a film, perhaps as animated shorts instead?

All I know is that I hope to see more of Pip, and if you do too, let me know, and maybe we’ll see the Good Bringer back again someday…

  1. Changing the project from one ambitious short film into a series of small episodes seems well matched to Pip. Each good deed could be one complete story, while the same forest footage and 3D character setup can be reused and improved over time. The mix of a small Blender elf with a real environment is also a strong part of the idea, so the shorter format would keep that contrast without requiring the whole world to be built at once.
